2 Preview: Hands-on with 'Tomb Raider'

It, Lara Croft is as if trying to be his old self slowly in general.

Heroin agile player trust online video games are familiar, yet nowhere near the face practical for comparison PC, and PlayStation 3 available 6 reboot of Tomb Raider January to March (8 reveals more characters than there is in a position to deal with the Xbox 360).

While sliding the ruins of the temple is open throughout the year 1996, Tomb Raider has played an archaeologist with the advent of your grace gymnast, also more of a super model, inside of apparently little effort.

Expenses related to the university - - and then expect to be able to generate employment for the 2013 reboot of your current, Cry stal Dynamics, and more of an archaeologist Lara after 21 years in the grass adopted the earth, after their own ship crashes in a mysterious island through, it goes immediately dispatched.

\ 'S obvious, afraid perhaps its related to the ability of Lara during practice in the demo game. "Oh my God,? I \ 'm nothing," she said a single point. But new tools get more skills, over time, it is a good overview of the internal skin of the old Lara certainly exists.

My goal for this demo, I feel in order to achieve the radio tower in the hope associated with sending a distress signal. Mainly good with bows and arrows, the game combines the routing environment in stealth fighter.

Because they continue to campaign for the player they contain tips on how to use the weapons and machines for you to survive in harsh environments. We will add a device, such as an ax on mountaineering terrain soon pistol and start demo ARC is maybe.

The island feels a bit hemmed in, but grows larger as players acquire more gear such as rope to explore new areas. Players can also backtrack and revisit earlier portions of the island.

Hidden tombs spread around the island offer additional treasures for players to scoop up. Completing missions and unearthing treasures nets experience points that bolster Lara's abilities to hunt, salvage and fight.
Moving through the island feels thrilling, as Lara leaps off ledges and flies on zip lines. Each movement from Lara feels measured, as if she's exerting her maximum effort to shimmy up a crevasse.

Although she appears more fragile, Lara Croft becomes quite adept at battling armed foes. One sequence requires Lara to storm through a camp and clear it of any guards, using a mix of firearms and arrows aimed at well-placed explosive barrels. The intense action concludes with a duel against a foe wearing heavy-duty riot gear. The battle requires Lara to dodge attacks, exposing the enemy for several shots from an assault rifle.

Many video game players see the all-new Tomb Raider and instantly think of the PlayStation 3 series Uncharted, which is funny considering the roles were reversed when the Nathan Drake adventure first launched. The environments and style of play may look similar, but Lara's journey feels more rooted in reality, based on the demo. I have yet to see Lara try to board a moving cargo plane from a speeding Jeep or single-handedly fight an attack helicopter.

This version of Tomb Raider is gritty, starring a character struggling to find an identity and escape the island. It's a heroine video game players will hopefully see more often.
